Further education for pioneers at church : mission : society
What is a pioneer?
We are convinced that you cannot "create" pioneers, but you have to find, release, support and supervise pioneer personalities. We want to enable people to rethink the matter of church and mission in the society, to develop missionary, innovative ways of being church (i.e. Fresh X) and create transformation processes.
Pioneers are people who feel a holy restlessness when they think about God´s kingdom, church and society and want to get active. Pioneers are founders, loyal radicals (as Bob Hopkins says), nonconformists, visionaries and realizers. They have, according to Jonny Baker, a wonderful gift, a gift of not-fitting-in. It is difficult to find the right term for this kind of person who can do his or hers own bit at church.
We keep to the following attempt by the Church of England:
Pioneers are people called by God who are the first to see and creatively respond to the Holy Spirit’s initiatives with those outside the church; gathering others around them as they seek to establish new contextual Christian community.
On that note we would like to work with people who have a passion and the courage to change church, mission and society and who are willing to go new, maybe even unusual paths to bring the gospel to the people.
The training programme for pioneers at church : mission : society is part of the training offer of the CVJM-Hochschule as part of the CVJM-Akademie.
This programme is realized in cooperation with the IEEG and the German FreshX network.
